Why are courses as long as 8 weeks?
All of the courses that have been researched and developed by the major mindfulness centres, such as Bangor and Oxford Universities here in the UK, build their courses around an eight-week model.
Each week cleverly builds on the previous one giving participants time to familiarise themselves with each practice before moving on to the next.
As we all know, changing our habits takes time. Mindfulness is no different. Bringing mindfulness into your life means developing new habits and changing old ones. This takes time and effort but you will be fully supported throughout and beyond.
